Zoran Stančič

Zoran Stančič, Hors Class Adviser, Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT), European Commission

Mr Zoran Stančič joined the European Commission in 2004 as Deputy Director-General for Research (DG RTD). In 2009 he was assigned as Deputy Director-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT) and later on from 2016-2020 served as Head of the European Commission Representation in Slovenia. In 2021 he returned to DG CNECT as Hors Class Adviser.

Prior to his career in the European Commission Mr Stančič served from 2000 until 2004 as the Slovenian State Secretary for Science. Before that he held managerial and research/teaching positions in the Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, University of Ljubljana, Sorbonne University in Paris and at the University of Trieste.
