Agim Kukaj

Head of ICT Department and Project Director of KODE Project– Ministry of Economy - Kosovo

Agim Kukaj has been Director of the Post, Telecommunications, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department of the Ministry of Economy of Kosovo since 2004. In 2018 he was also appointed the Director of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the Kosovo Digital Economy (KODE) Project, financed by the International Development Association, part of the World Bank Group. Mr. Kukaj has more than 20 of experience in the ICT sector.

He is a Kosovo representative in Western Balkan regional initiatives for developing information society, Component Contact Point (CCP) for the Multi-annual Action Plan for the Regional Economic Area - Regional Cooperation Council.

Aside from being a lead government counterpart for ICT, Mr Kukaj is also actively participating in the projects led by DG for Information Society and Media of the European Commission for “Monitoring South East Europe electronic communication sector and Information Society Services, and IPA projects. He is also responsible for drafting and implementation of the European Partnership Action Plan for Information Society and Media in Kosovo.

By training, Mr Kukaj is electrical technical engineer specializing in Telecommunications and Informatics, a degree obtained from the University of Prishtina. He received his MSc in Professional Studies from Rochester Institute of Technology, USA.
