Technology solution for digitalization in Energy Sector
15:15 – 15:30

High penetration levels of renewables, growth in customer-owned generation, and changes in demand patterns have unsettled the traditional utility model around the world. Utilities are seeing their historic core market – generation – get progressively less lucrative, as margins are squeezed and opex costs rise. Utilities have to pursue new revenue sources from innovative products and services, and develop business models to adapt to the Industry 4.0 model.

Schneider Electric Smart Grid (EcoStruxure Grid ) solutions improve the efficiency of distribution networks and leverage the flexibility of energy demand. It is our technology solution to digitize grid operations.

EcoStruxure makes grids more powerful, and more cost effective, to manage more distributed resources and maintain physical assets. We do this through reactivity – managing unforeseen external events and Predictability – maintaining legacy infrastructure in a smarter way. Second, it means Leveraging Energy Demand to balance the system in real time, balancing variable supply without disrupting the customer who pays the bills.

Main part of this Smart Grid solution is ADMS, the most advanced software system in the World for performing all technical tasks in distribution utilities in an efficient and optimal way which fulfils modern power industry development requirements worldwide. This software is developed in Novi Sad, Serbia in our unique research and development center for Smart GRID solutions Schneider Electric DMS.

This panel is aiming to explore digital development of logistics sector, new business opportunities and models, trends and benefits of digitalization in transport and logistics activities.

Participants will have an opportunity to hear from regional logistics and retail leading companies on their achievements and obstacles in the process of digitalization of their business processes, plans for the future and how they see the digitalization benefits from the viewpoint of trade and logistics industry.

Topics to be tackled are increased efficiency, cost reduction, optimization of transport and distribution services, interoperability of transport systems and infrastructure, Intelligent Transport Systems, electronic transport documents and more.

Beside innovations and new technologies within business, trends in strategic actions at the level of international organizations and governmental level related to digitalization of transport and logistics will be briefly presented.
