The panel discussion will lay emphasis on the digital connectivity gaps in the Western Balkans region and the primary importance of broadband development and its quality as a precondition for integration within EU’s Digital Single Market. The Panel will also address the Western Balkans interest to continue work towards a roaming free regional economic zone, as well as to integrate itself within the EU roaming free regime. In addition, it will highlight the opportunities for increased digital connectivity through utilizing available excess infrastructure and regional infrastructure-sharing. Information on available financial instruments for infrastructure roll out will be presented. The panel will also bring forth the private sector perspective on the significance of the right framework conditions, an investment-conducive level playing field, based on harmonized approach, as well as a holistic and demand-driven view on the digital value chain. The Panel will also examine aspects of spectrum policy coordination, digital dividend and 5G.
